Welcome

We experienced a flurry of activity during this first quarter as companies sought out new talent and added positions that were on hold late last year. We have noticed an upturn in hiring patterns. For companies with urgent needs, we have seen them hire as quickly as possible to get the candidate they want. For other searches, companies are moving slower and wanting a larger slate of people to compare before deciding who to hire. In our experience, the only thing that motivates companies to move more quickly in the process is for them to experience missing out on candidates they wanted.

Below are a few data points from our first quarter numbers:

3 weeks – Average number of days for ESS to find and present the candidate who is ultimately hired for the role.

25 days – Average number of days from the day we present the finalist until they are hired by the employer.

6% – Percentage of people who moved for a new job in the first quarter.

We are excited about April and the change in weather in Ohio. We are also excited to help more companies upgrade their teams this quarter.
