Introduction:

Our 25th Anniversary is this month! ESS started out of an apartment by one person and now is one of the largest healthcare recruiting firms in the country. We are excited and grateful that you have entrusted ESS and the ESS team with your career. Over the last 25 years, there have been so many positive changes to landing the right job. Some of the most significant are video calls, access to data, and flexible work schedules. Regardless of these changes, what has remained consistent is the people. People must talk to make a successful hire. We don’t believe that part of the process can be automated at the level of positions we work on.

The number of people and companies we have worked with successfully is over 1500! We look forward to partnering with new people and companies over the next 25 years. Hopefully, we will help you with one of those two possibilities soon.

Ask the Recruiter – What are some funny highlights over the last 25 years?”

We could write an entire newsletter on the funny stories over the years at ESS. Below are some funny highlights. (Yes, they are all true!!)

• A live snake was found in the office. (Other than dogs, we don’t like living animals in the office)
• During an ESS Halloween contest, the fire department showed up and had to evacuate the entire building because ESS set off the smoke alarms with our fog machine. (With the entire team dressed in costumes, it was quite the scene in the parking lot)
• When a recruiter was talking to another recruiter, they said, “Don’t bother calling in Florida because I’ve talked to everyone in Florida.” (We have never called everyone in any state although we try)
• We once heard from our client that our candidate pants fell during an interview when he put on his coat. (So glad there was no video evidence)
• We once had a candidate fail a drug test. He then referred his wife for the same job and she was hired.

We cannot make up the stories we see unfold right in front of us. Some of these stories are way more fun after the fact (like the snake). There will be more stories in the future, and we can’t wait to share what happens next. Thank you for all your support over the years.
