Introduction:

We felt it was important to bring this to your attention again; there are scammers out there pretending to be companies you have heard of with fake open jobs. They will conduct fake interviews, only to “on-board” you and gain access to your bank account. We strongly encourage you to evaluate any direct outreach, especially if they require you to provide any personal information.

A trend that we’re seeing is that approximately 60% of the jobs we are recruiting for are now requiring some in office time. We expect this percentage to continue to increase. We share this so that you as a job seeker can think about the job, company and situation where you would be willing to go back into the office on some schedule. The days of only evaluating jobs that are 100% remote are disappearing quickly.

Each year we recommend that everyone, regardless of their interest in the job market, updates their resume. On a quarterly basis or after any special projects, you should jot down some notes on your results. Some questions to ask yourself through this process are below:

  • Money – What have you done to make money or save money within your department and how much money did you make or save? Numbers jump off the resume, so we strongly encourage numbers on your resume.
  • Time – What have you done to save time and improve efficiency within your department or company? Each company wants to improve operational efficiency so having specific examples are always valuable to include on your resume.
  • Leadership – Regardless of whether it’s an official leadership position or not, companies want strong leaders who can lead and develop people. Examples of staff development and helping staff get promoted are valuable to include on your resume.

Updating your resume may feel overwhelming. By updating your resume on a regular basis, the process becomes easier. If you would like someone to review your resume, please send me a copy.

If you need help navigating any job searches that you have in process, please let me know.
