Hot Jobs ESS

In the last 30 days, there have been significant disasters affecting our country.  Last month, people in both Houston and Florida were affected by the two hurricanes.  Earlier this week, we woke up and were shocked by the attack in Las Vegas.  At Executive Staffing Solutions, we interact with people around the country daily and take great pride in knowing people and having relationships with so many people.  We are sorry to see “our community” affected by these events.

The relationships we have formed with many of you are what keeps us energized and excited to come to work each day.  If there is anything, we can do to help you or a loved one get back on their feet with a new or different job, please let us know.  We have contacts at recruiting associations around the country and would like to help as many people as possible.

Ask the Recruiter – “Can you review my LinkedIn profile?”

Your LinkedIn profile should be a good snapshot of your work experience.  An incomplete profile may hurt your chances during your job search.  Below are some “must haves” for your LinkedIn profile:

  1. Picture – The first thing people look at is your picture.  Pay attention to make sure it is a strong picture of you.  Avoid using vacation photos, sunglasses or pictures that were altered to fit in.
  2. Company and position description – There are new companies each day we come across that we had no idea about 24 hours earlier.  It is important to provide both a description of the company and a brief description of your responsibilities on your page.  Be sure to have bullet points of accomplishments under each role.
  3. Connection – On the right side of the page, LinkedIn shows other similar people who you may look at if you looked at this profile.  Pay attention to whom you are associated.  Does this represent your peers, manager or who?

LinkedIn can be a great tool but also can hurt you if there information is incomplete or if there is distracting information included.  If you would like a free review of your profile, please contact me and I will provide some feedback on our LinkedIn profile page.
