Ask the Recruiter – “WHat should i add to my resume?”

At a minimum of once a year, we encourage people to review their resume especially before or after a performance review. The purpose of this regular review is to make sure you have recent accomplishments captured on your resume. Below are some questions to ask yourself while updating your resume:

  1. How did I make money or save money for the department or the company?
  2. What did I do to improve efficiency in my department or the company?
  3. How did my involvement in a project elevate the results of the project? What did the project accomplish?
  4. What specific feedback did you receive? What adjectives did they use to describe your performance?
  5. What is something you improved upon from the prior year?

This is a starting point to help you reflect and capture your impact. I encourage you to keep these questions in front of you to remind yourself to check in with yourself to see how you are doing over the year.
