Ask the Recruiter – “Which one is the most attractive to employers?”
Introduction:
As 2024 winds down and these last two months seem to go so fast, how can you be best prepared to identify and respond to opportunities? What opportunities are out there and how do you find more of them? Lastly, can you define the opportunity that would cause you to get out the suit and go in for an interview?
This is the time of year when companies work on budgets for next year and complete projects before the end of the year. This is also the time of year when you should reflect on your own year, your accomplishments, your growth, and update your resume. Even if you are not open for a job change, documenting your wins is a great practice.
If you would like help doing this, please let me know. Also, if you have received a promotion or have an updated resume you would like to send, please do.
Ask the Recruiter – “WHICH IS MORE ATTRACTIVE TO EMPLOYERS?”
The job market continues to evolve and seems to be moving each day closer to the pre-Covid workplace. As you think about your job prospects, people tend to put themselves in one of three classes. Which one best describes you?
- 100% remote – Will only consider roles where you can work from home
- 100% in the office – Will only consider where you are required to be in the office five days a week.
- Hybrid – Required to be in the office a couple of days each week while working from home on the other days.
Which one is right for you? It depends on where you are in your life and where you want to be. Some people enjoy the daily interaction and schedule of going to the office each day while others prefer complete autonomy to do their jobs. This is an individual decision for each person. Some companies are now indicating promotions and wage increases will only be available for people in the office every day.
Our recommendation is to define what scenario you could see yourself in each option. Does a perfect job with perfect income exist for you to go to the office each day? What are you willing to give up on or change if it’s hybrid or 100% remote?
