We want to make you aware of a scam that is affecting companies as well as people looking for jobs. We had a client of ours who was recently involved in a scam without their knowing. Another individual created fake ads online using the company’s logo for open jobs that people were hired for. Once hired, with minimal communication, the hired candidates were asked to provide banking information for direct deposit. At that point, people lost money in their bank accounts.

We understand people are eager and excited to land the right opportunity. If it sounds too good to be true or if it is too simple to be hired, it may be a scam. From the ESS perspective, this is another reason to use a recruiter during your job search as we collaborate directly with specific contacts that we’ve built a relationship with over time.

We encourage you to share this with other people so no more people are impacted by this type of scam. If this happens to you or someone you know, we encourage you to contact the authorities and the company.
